Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery is Western Canada’s oldest craft distillery, dating back to 2004. The distillery sprung from the idea of using 100% locally grown fruits and grains to make premium, world-class spirits just a tractor-ride away from the orchards and fields where the base ingredients were grown. BC’s original harvest-to-flask distillery now offers a selection of more than 25 internationally awarded spirits ranging from BC’s firstSingle Malt Whisky to Gins, Vodkas, Liqueurs, Fruit Brandies and even Aquavit and Absinthe.
Okanagan Spirits is family owned and operated Distillery with two locations: one in Kelowna and one in Vernon. Both offer tours and tastings, and a chance to witness first-hand the magic of craft distilling at its best. And we're not the only ones who think so! Okanagan Spirits was awarded “Distillery of the Year” at the 2013 and 2015 World Spirits Awards (Klagenfurt, Austria in 2013, and Køge, Denmark in 2015). In 2013, we also became North America’s only World Class rated distillery, a distinction we still hold proudly today.
In early 2015, we relocated and redesigned our original flagship Vernon distillery, which is now home to North America’s tallest copper pot still, towering over a 1930’s style production facility that allows us to keep up to growing demand, and to vastly expand our Whisky production capabilities. Both of our distillery locations also have an onsite Barrel Room distillery lounge and patio, allowing patrons the ability to taste handcrafted cocktails and learn some new recipes from Canada's craft distilling pioneer.
What's the next big thing for Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery? In a word: Whisky. Following on our original single malt whisky cask production back in 2007, we have continued to experiment with and expand our whisky repertoire to include our lottery release “Laird of Fintry” single malt (Gold medal 2015 World Spirits Awards), our BC Rye Whisky, our “Final Proof” Master Distillery Series Whisky line (Peppered Pete 2015 WSA Silver medal), and our hotly anticipated BC "BRBN," a bourbon-style whisky.
